USPTO Military Association Announces Quarterly Meeting

flyer for quarterly meetingThe USPTO Military Association (UMA) invites all members, veterans and supporters to attend its quarterly meeting Thursday, March 31, from noon to 1 p.m. in Madison South Auditorium. The meeting, also available via WebEx, is open to all USPTO employees, regardless of veteran status, who would like to learn more about the UMA. UMA members are asked to bring a friend!

UMA President Dean Dominique will provide an update on UMA activities. Guest speaker Charles Clark, Jr., Veterans and Disability Employment Program Manager for the Department of Commerce, will talk about efforts to establish a veteran affinity group within DOC.

In honor of the 25th anniversary of Operation Desert Storm, the meeting will feature a display table with uniforms, artifacts, pictures and mementos from the period.

The UMA is an affinity group whose mission is to provide fellowship, mentorship, and advocacy for military veterans working at the USPTO, and to help educate others on the important contributions that veterans have made – and continue to make – to the workforce and our nation. Membership is open to all USPTO employees. Contact the UMA for more information at uma@uspto.gov.
