UMA Honors National Military Appreciation Month

In 1999, Senator John McCain passed a resolution designating May as “National Military Appreciation Month” in order to promote national awareness of the sacrifices that Veterans and members of the United States Armed Forces have made in the past and continue to make every day in order to support the Constitution and to preserve the freedoms and liberties that enrich our great Nation. National Military Appreciation Month includes Loyalty Day (1st), Military Spouse Appreciation Day (6th), Victory in Europe Day (8th), Armed Forces Day (21th), and Memorial Day (30th).

I encourage you to read the resolution passed by the 106th Congress designating May 1999 as “National Military Appreciation Month”. You also can read the Virginia Military Appreciation Month 2016 Proclamation here.
