March 29th is Vietnam Veterans Day – Thank a Vietnam Veteran and welcome them home

On behalf of the Board of the USPTO Military Association (UMA), we would like to take a minute to thank our Vietnam Veterans and welcome them home. March 29th, is Vietnam Veterans Day, named as such because it marks the date in 1973 when the last U.S. combat troops were withdrawn from South Vietnam. Please take advantage of the opportunity to express your gratitude for the service and sacrifice of this generation of American Veterans. Thank a Vietnam Veteran and welcome them home!

Below is a quote from the Presidential Proclamation:

“Our veterans answered our country’s call and served with honor, and on March 29, 1973, the last of our troops left Vietnam. Yet, in one of the war’s most profound tragedies, many of these men and women came home to be shunned or neglected — to face treatment unbefitting their courage and a welcome unworthy of their example. We must never let this happen again. Today, we reaffirm one of our most fundamental obligations: to show all who have worn the uniform of the United States the respect and dignity they deserve, and to honor their sacrifice by serving them as well as they served us.”
