USPTO Military Spouse Appreciation Day

President Barack Obama signed a proclamation declaring May 6th as Military Spouse Appreciation Day.  He noted that military spouses “demonstrate a strength reflective of the spirit of our nation,”

In honor of that proclamation, the USPTO Military Association (UMA) celebrated Military Spouse Appreciation Day  on May 5th.

The event will celebrated the contributions of military spouses who work at the USPTO.  America’s military spouses are the backbone of the families who support our troops during mission, deployment, reintegration and beyond.  They are the silent heroes who are essential to the strength of the nation and they serve our country just like their loved ones.

The mission of the UMA is to provide fellowship, mentorship, and advocacy for milita

y veterans working at the USPTO, and to help educate others on the important contributions that veterans have made – and continue to make – to the workforce and our nation. Membership is open to all USPTO employees.
